TVR Cerbera ls1/t56
Hi there, after working out how to post pictures I thoughtI'd just put a couple on to start.
I bought the tvr about 3 years ago as an insurance write off, someone had spun it and t-boned a tree or wall on the drivers side bending the space frame as you can see from the pic. the beauty of this kind of car is that it's easy to cut damaged pieces out and remake them. The fibreglass bodywork is quite straight forward to repair.
The v8 engines fitted to the cerbera is actually hand built by TVR, a good race engine but practically not the best, the engines must be warmed up and not overstressed when cold, early ones had common problems such as snapping cranks and cams. Fitting the lsx engines into the cerbs over here is becoming quite common but it isn't encouraged by the traditionlists but who cares.
I'll post some more bits up when I can number 2 child just been born making time a bit more scarse.
Regards Simon

Wow the chassis is not what I expected, easy to fix though on a jig, nice project...
The funny thing is I saw one of these on the road today here in Australia, very rare..........

You're not wrong, I was slightly concerned when we lifted the body off for the first time. But on further investigation and a steam clean the only major rust was on the chassis outriggers and the front chassis members as seen in the pic. The outriggers have been replaced and the complete chassis will be stripped and repainted. The other rusty bits were the wishbones and antiroll bars, again have been shot blasted and painted.
I've found out since that TVR stockpiled the chassis unfinished outside before a small amount of powder coating was applied. Newer chassis were alot better by all accounts.

Finally, got the TVR back in the garage and fitted the LS and t56 in the chassis. Plenty of clearance for the bonnet! Time to get the bady back off and get the chassis finished, at last progress.
