400KM on fresh 370ci, spun mains?

400KM on fresh 370ci, spun mains?
okay i just got my car tuned and al of a sudden I lost oil pressure, wouldnt go over 25psi.
So I bring my filter to my builder and he checks it out and finds bearing material.
I tore the motor out and he pulled it apart and found all the mains are destroyed! almost to the point of spinning around.
I know there could be many reasons why but I dont understand.
I put at least 2-300KM of city driving on it no boost etc. The I started tuning for 8psi. Seemed like after i was done (about 5 pulls with cooldown) i lost pressure.
He is giving me pretty much every reason why being my fault.
First says my motor was too rich and thinned the Oil, i said NO WAY IN HELL, its only rich in boost and it barely saw boost.
Then said the filter probably plugged.
Then said that the oil was too cold, which i drove the car for at least 20-30min before WOT.
Any opinions?

Motor specs...
2001 Lq4
4.030 Wiesco pistons (-11cc)
Compstar 6.125 rods
Stock 317 heads
Clevite H bearings (cam,main's and rods)
Melling pump
JP Double roller
Comp 236/236 cam
He says the mains had about 0.0024 clearence.

If I were you I would take a loss and find a new engine builder,,,the reason I say this is because the guy I know that builds engines from small blocks to 550+ and he would fix and replace what ever is needed with no extra charge especially with less than 200 miles on the rebuild...Hell most engine builders that have flywheel dyno's do a few heat cycles on the new engine change the oil then let it rip ,,,if you have a good engine builder then there should be no break in period at all. You should be able to put the engine in your car let it get up to full temp and give it hell.

i was going to say the same thing... find a new engine builder, but first i would get him to bebuild what you have the right way this time. I know if i had just had an engine built by somebody and within the first 200 miles it died i would go back and tell the builder to replace all the damaged parts and rebuild it the right way or have him replace the parts and have somebodyelse do it the right way.

which I shouldnt of have oiling problems unless my brand new melling is messed up or sucked the pan dry? I also put 6 liters in the pan instead of the regular 5-5.5 incase of this reason!
It was perfect for the first like 200-300KM of city driving, once i got on it it musta happened, I cant remember looking over at the oil pressure do to trying to tune my AFR.

Post pics of bearings on TTF or HC or here.
Most likely the clearances were set too tight. BTDT
Detonation will leave signs in the bearings that the experts will see.
You also might have got one of the occasional oval cranks if it's an Eagle.
Pick a different builder, diluted oil is another easily diagnosed sign. It will show up on the rings and the bearings. EFI makes it incredibly easy to wash down the cylinders. (no offense toward you)
I can't stand having to do a mail order short block. I've always built my own.
But I'm still going to get an HKE setup unless I can find someone besides Nelson/Duttweiler to do LSx machining on the west coast. Nothing against them. They just cater to the water cooled check book crowd and deep pocket racers.
