Default Bent Some Valves, Are These Pistons Okay to Use?

Well I accidentally shifted from the top of 3rd into 2nd. I pushed the clutch in almost instantaneously but it was still enough to bend 15 pushrods and several valves. Every piston has at least one small nick on it but here are a few pictures of the worst off ones. I'm pretty sure I can still run them, since some people have fly-cutted a lot deeper than these nicks but wanted some second opinions...

I think you are fine, but as LS-1Z28 said, you may want to sand down any sharp edges that are protruding.

Could probably get away with using some red scotch pads they sell at the car parts store (they're priced kinda high at autozone though). Or you could use some fine grit sand paper. I'd start with 400 grit and move up to smooth it out. Either way make sure you clean out the cylinder well when you're done.

I agree with the other guys. I have put back several motors with simelar damage. Scotch pad just to take off the rough edges. If you do have any sharp edges the motor will burn down. The sharp edge will heat up and possibly glow and give you detonation or preignition.

Yes. The pistons are fine you just don't want any sharp edges that will create hot spots. As Disturbed 71 mentioned, these hot spots could detonate the fuel/air mixture.

yes the car shut itself off after the missed shift and a compression test yielded several low numbers on a few cylinders and one had zero compression.

Magnaflux them if your worried. IMO I would. do a Google Search for a at home kit. Its basically a dye kit that will show cracks if there are any.

Aluminum cannot be Magnafluxed because its not magnetic. Dye-pentrant can be used.

In all honesty You could smooth em out and reuse them but im guessing you could get a set of OE used pistons for pretty cheap that are not dinged up at all.
