Default AutoZone brakes for all you haters!!!!

Ok so after needing new rotors for sometime now I broke down and picked up new pads and rotors. I ended up getting the AutoZone Cmax pads and Duralast rotors. I've put about 300 miles on them so far after the bed-in process. All I can say is damn!!!These are some of the best brakes I've ever had. They stop so much better than the old(which still had 1/2 the pad left). They work so well I pulled a 1.28 stop G. So I'm gonna say it was a well spent $170 brake job!!

A couple of years ago I installed a complete set of Autozone Rotors and Ceramic pads. They've been excellent.
The pads themselves were made in the USA too. No sqeaks, dust, good wear, stop fine.

I've got Wearever ceramic pads from Advance, they work better than OEM ceramics, IMO. Btw, 1.28 is the max reading, it's likely better.

1.28 across the board, never achieved that, though. Would be fun.

If you stand on it at 60, it's bound to be over 1.5.

Everyone knocks the cheap brakes, and I can understand the skepticism, BUT I have been through multiple sets of autozone/oreilly rotors and pads. They had all been great, I had one set of pads that needed backing pads to prevent squeal but that was it.

I just installed them on my aunt's Subaru and I was actually impressed by the quality of the CMax pad, and they stopped pretty well. The hawk pads i have on the GXP now have about 50% left in them so i think i may try these next time. I'm sticking with the Raybestos rotors though.

FINALLY! Someone else to concur with my set-up! I bought the autozone C-Max pads and their in house drilled rotors about 4 months ago. Everyone told me I was an idiot, until people started riding in the car.

I LOVE these pads, for 53 dollars and a lifetime warranty it's awesome. They stop extremely well, and NO DUST. I think they have just as good of bite as the stockers after the bed-in process.

Glad you're liking them as well, and you're right the price can't be beat!!!

Ive been running those Cmax pads on my stock rotors which i turned.

yeah 4k later, rotors warped.

I must say those Cmax pads are pretty damn good.

Gm rotors are not. They blow goats...

I also have the Cmax pads and Duralast drilled rotors that have a 2 year warranty and I have to say they rock! They held up great after an auto X event bit hard with little dust. I have had them for over a year and 20,000 miles or more and still have over half pad left to go.

Thats why its a bad idea to cut stock rotors. They are not designed to be cut, and by doing so, you remove enough material to affect the way the rotor dissipates heat. This makes them much more likely to go out of spec quickly.
