Default Pictures of my just completed scratch built car

Hello everyone, It's been awhile since I made a post. I have been working on this car for 3 years. I had to take a year off because of some health issues. But, I finally have it finished. To those that haven't seen it, some details.
Scratch built aluminum semi monoque frame. It has the stock wheelbase, track and ground clearance of the C5 Vette. The aluminum suspension cradles from the C5 simply bolt into my chassis. I have a slightly modified LS6. FAST throttle body, FAST 92mm intake, Comp Cam, push rods, and springs. 1 3/4 inch headers, 6 speed Vette transaxle. I shortened the torque tube and moved the engine rearward by about 20 inches.

My favorite cars are the late 1950's sports racers. I sculpted the body to be evoke the feel, but it is not a replica of any car. The result is a car that weighs 1980lbs wet, has 54% rearweight with me in the seat, and has around 440 rearwheel horsepower. (According to Comp). I just know that it is fast and goes around corners like a go cart! Thanks for looking, John

Thanks for the kind words. My 16 yr old son is in the picture. I am old, and now tired!!!!!!! I finished this chassis 3 years ago and made a simple hot rod body on it. I drove it on the street and I raced it at an event at Gateway International Raceway(St Louis) in an event called Run n Gun. It consisted of a Drag race, auto cross, and road course. I won all three events, winning the roadcourse by 5 seconds per lap. That was with 350hp and the run flat tires. I have a high quality Cobra replica too and this car blows it away.
This car took about a year to design and build. I actually had it almost done over a year ago but took off a year to deal with some health issues. It is deadly fast and it handles like it's on rails. I want to get some video of it running through the mountains of New Hampshire and on a race track. But, It will be awhile. I own a small toy company and this time of year until Christmas is crazy.
I love this car as it's close to what I have been drawing since I was a kid. I am glad that you like it. And, yes, the headlights are Mini Cooper! John

I would love to see some video of this thing. I hope someday I have the ability to do something similar.
