Default hitmanws6's Build Thread

*SOUND CLIP ADDED IN POST 36*

After about 7 months of waiting there is light at the end of the tunnel. Motor goes in on Saturday, should have it done by the weekend. A little backstory, blew my stock motor up at 195K, had the leader of my carclub do a stock rebuild for $2500. He then proceeds to screw me over by not helping me out at all, claims I abused it and neglected it even though he knew it was my DD, I had never been to the track and the dyno once. So 9 months after he builds it for me it blows upgetting on the freeway, and after 3 months of waiting for him to do something I decided to start over fresh and do it myself. Its been a headache because of all the little things and that I just turned 20, getting together this kind of money wasn't easy. The 19 year old in me wanted to go 383, but I realized I don't need a fully forged motor for street use. I have a lot of people locally to thank for parts and favors. Also have to thank a lot of you for pointing me in the right direction with a lot of things. So breaking it down my new setup is:

355 LT1

-Stock Crank, GMPP rods, Mahle stock replacement pistons for overbore
-ARP everything
-Custom Grind LE Cam
-LS7 Lifters
-Comp 7.25 Pushrods
-Comp Pro Mag 1.6 SA rockers
-Patriot Gold Extremes
-Ported heads (Flow 228/195) *Heads were made for a nitrous app, so yes gregrob, I will be spraying it, plate kit is in the future*
-Ported LT1 Intake
-AS&M 58mm TB
-Ford #39 injectors
-Racetronix Kit
-CSR EWP
-March Pulley Kit
-LPP LTs
-ORY with Flowmaster Merge/GMMG
-Stock 4L60E with Level 2 TransGo shift kit/SS3600 stall
-3.73s/MAC Girdle

one thing i learned on here not to long ago and did it myself was to take out that extension thing on the oil filler. The cap will thread right into the VC. I think it looks cleaner.

I feel like I should be a title sponsor for this build. Haha

Good to see your build is coming to an end. Good luck getting it running.

man I feel your pain!! that is one sweet looking motor though. PM me if you don't wanna put it out there but I'm interested to know the $$ you have into this. I just turned 23 and moved out of my parents house and I'm busting my *** to pay rent. My motor blew a head gasket and I'm looking at going the solid roller route but I'm just curious to know what it all took.

Somewhere in the area of $4500 labor included for the motor, If I had a decent shortblock in my car already the cost would have been less, got a lot of parts for it on sale/off the classifieds.

Trust me Sean if mine had blown up about a month or so ago I would have shown up with a truck to take those LE3s, block, pistons/rods, cam and your 6 speed. Pretty much my entire build

I would have sold it had my friends 02 WS6 not been sent to the smog ref out here. Some kid bought it for 9K. It was a cam only six speed, 4.10s, True Duals, MT Drs on the back

I know how it is being young and building a car. I'm 23, just finished my 2nd motor, got married last year and bought a house 4 months ago. Not to mention, I have a son on the way due Dec. 29th. If you love it you'll always find a place for it. Good luck with the build, looks good!!
