drag strip friday
A little back ground.I been working on a lt1 for a drag car (stock short block) with lt4 heads, zz4 cam, 1.6 rockers, 1 3/4 headers long tubes ,gm dual plane intake, hei, 750 dp,holley blue pump. 350 turbo, 3500 stall ,456 gears. I got it running and took it to the 1/8 mile track. The pass I made I shifted 6500 ran 8.062 79.?? mph. RAINED OUT . Back at the shop we was checking plugs little rich . Pulled vavle covers off to run the vavles # 5 both push rods broke. pulled intake to find push rods. I will have to pull oil pan off to find it.
Now this is the help I need from you all . I am wanting to run low 7s on the motor. Is my set up closes? what can I do to get there? stroker kit ? Bigger cam for sure. single plane intake ? port the head ? Thanks

You do not need a stroker kit to get low 7s out of a much heavier car. See my sig.
IMO I would sell the LT4 heads and get properly ported LT1 heads and complimentary cam, and put a single plane on it.

The lt4 heads I have are GMPP heads part # 12363287 I emailed Advanced Induction to see what they would do to the heads and to redrill intake bolt holes for a victor intake ,

Steve,
We have a full CNC program for the GM LT4 head. We can also mock up and convert the head/manifold to work together at your specific deck height & desired chamber volume. Full CNC portwork, converting heads/single plane to work together, and porting of the manifold would typically be in the $1600-1800 range depending upon the amount of welding etc. we get into using your current components. Of course, we’re happy to quote you a complete setup if you need valve train etc. and can describe your goals. If you have questions or decide to move forward, we’ll be around. Thanks for your interest!
