PAC 1518's are a good choice and save some money over the doubles, the beehives will also give a bigger area where valve float won't come into affect if you are revving 6400-7000rpm due to their lighter weight. There was an article in Hot Rod Mag where the doubles were even givving too much pressure and elastically bending parts. Dual springs may be safer to some since there will still be another spring if one breaks but I don't see that small spring alone stopping valve float with the engine running before you notice the breakage.
Many people also reuse their stock retainers and locks on the beehives.

I was wondering, how many companies actually "make" springs? Obviously its a specialized manufacturing process just like making cams, heads or engine blocks. I know know most vendors around here use comp for cams. But what about springs? Who is actually capable of producing valve springs? I noticed the other day that the Lunati sure looked a lot like the PAC 1221s.
