Free Ram Air Mod-Dirty air Filter
Hey all... im starting to get pissed off.. I did the free Ram air mod about 7 or 8 months ago, and I love it... However, my damn air filter gets dirty as hell!!!
Bugs, Sand, Dirt, etc. Is there something I can do to prevent all that crap from gathering on my filter?? I got a Holley Powershot on the way, and i want to TRY and keep it clean as possible.
Anyone else have this problem with the Free Ram Air Mod? Or did I do something wrong?

When I did my FRA mod many moons ago I also bought some wire mesh (about the same size as you'd see in a screen door or window screen) from Home Depot. I cut this to size and sandwiched it in between the radiator support and the air filter tray. The mesh is not so tight as to hinder air flow appreciably and, although it certainly won't keep your air filter clean, it will keep the larger stuff (like leaves, litter, etc.) away from the filter.

Of course they don't come cheap, they last forever. $40 for something that'll last a looooooong time is a pretty good deal if you ask me
Also, I wonder if the FTRA people have the same problems?

I have to agree with JRP on this one. After digging the Crap out of the K&N a few times the a cheap and easy to replace paper filter is looking pretty good. Yea you can spin the K&N filter around 180* but then you have twice the crap to dig out.
