difference: stock flywheel vs fidanza aluminum flywheel
2 H/C/I C6s with the exact same combos and both 6spds and same gearing. The only difference being one with a stock LS7 Clutch/flywheel and the other with a fidanza aluminum flywheel/spec 3+ clutch. From a 60-130 roll, will the C6 with the aluminum flywheel beat the factory flywheel'd C6?

Technically speaking, yes. Less spinning mass means less power loss. How much power are you actually losing? Not much. Maybe 2-5HP. Will you SEE the difference? Probably not. Some people claim they see 10HP differences. Maybe. But we're talking the difference of about 0.01 in the 1/4 mile. Maybe a little more... But honestly, aluminum flywheels are the week link in a drive train. Get a chromemoly flywheel if you want it to be light and still strong.

The other side of that is the aluminum flywheel, typically takes a higher rpm to launch as quick as a steel flywheel. I have run both many times. I love the way the aluminum flywheel lets the motor rev and drop off rpm so quick.

This is a good topic as im trying to consider what Clutch/ Flywheel etc. im going to get on a c5 H/C/I/E.
I know the aluminum Flywheel is weaker but the question is how much weaker?

I would call Jason at TDP. Me and all my buddy's are using his Stage 3 Clutch and A lightweight 15lb 4140 billet chromoly flywheel and I would not change it to any other set up. Feels stock and still pulls like a freight train at rolls and holds up to 5k dumbs at the track.
