Well, today was the first time I've had the new combo to the track since Thunder worked it over in October. I missed the Shootout (bad posi), and finally got the spool installed. Everything seemed to be clickin' today.
Previous best pass was an 11.48 @ 119.
Best pass for today was an 11.05 @ 124.2, 1.52 60' - the first one off the trailer. Followed up with 11.06, 11.06, 11.07, 11.10 - you get the point...
I made a few 'aborted' passes - umm, I think I was leaving the line with the front wheels tweaked or not pointed straight, so the car made a jump at the tree or the rail a few times. All in learning my new combo, I suppose.
I am officially ditching my MBA shift ****. That thing is bling and MBA has the coolest stuff but the **** is gone. I tried a Hurst leather wrapped **** today, and never missed a gear, and the tranny felt completely different. Just the freakin' ****! It was weird.
I also used the Harlan 2-step for the first time today. If you don't have one - GET ONE. It is to launching what a linelock is to burnouts. I experimented from 6200-6400. My best 60' was a 1.48 on a 6400 launch, but that was one of them that I went towards the rail and got out of it.
Ram clutch and McLeod master worked flawlessly. I can't wait to try my Pro-shifted tranny when the parts get here next week.
The motor, of course, ran great. It just rocks with dual bullet mufflers. Definitely a head turning cadence. It's nasty. I love it.
I thought I might see a 10 today, but it just didn't happen. Local baro was 29.80-81 all day, with humidity in the upper 70%-80%. I think a good lauch, and decent 30.x baro, and I'm there.
I'm happy with my first time out with the combo. Thanks Thunder!

Congrats on the new times, Andrew! I know it was a long time coming, but all the hardaches seem to be worthwhile now.
You will get your 10 second pass with some better air!
That Mcleod m/c was a good mod.

Thanks guys. I was real close to ordering the Wolfe ARB during their December sale, probably should have. But there's a lot of work left to do, especially in the suspension. I just wanted to get the drivetrain working right first. Maybe Wolfe will have another sale soon.
I also got the Billingsley A/C block off plate this week (nice piece). I still have about 80-100 lbs I want to lose off of the car. My raceweight (at NPR, anyway) is around 3400 (+/-). I want to get closer to 3300.
Ron, I'm gunnin' for ya. Except for on the spray.

I believe your best was a 11.49 not a 11.48. I have the dollar to prove it! I hope you took some Tylenol for your swollen head!
Good job! You should have listened to me a long time ago about that stupid ****.

Cool you got your Hot Rod to the track.
Times are pretty cool. I wish you would have made it into the 10's.
It is cool that she didn't break anything and you had a good time.
Now get your suspension worked out and run some 10.80's.
I hear ya about the MBA shift ****. I had alot of trouble with mine also.
Thunder Racing headers and dual bullet mufflers totally ROCK!
