The search for the right cam... I have the stock WS6 catback with a cutout. I want to be able to hear the cam lope a little bit through the cutout, but when it is capped I need it to be not too noticeable. Can't the WS6 catback quiet it down a lot?
After searching all through the archives I've found that the following cams may suite me... the TR220, B1, and the C1 on a 114. Am I right? Would any one of these 3 cams idle *near* stock and sound stock with the cutout capped? My car already idles at 500rpm with the SY3500.
Any info would be appreciated. I want this to be the ultimate sleeper. I saw someone say the B1 would still be noticeable with a cutout capped, but not sure if they were referring to a stock catback or an aftermarket catback. I will always keep my stock catback.
btw: the car is a '01 ws6 a4, with a lid, smooth bellow, cutout, and SY3500 verter. the heads will remain stock also

Re: The search for the right cam... C1 all the way. It's a tried and true cam and very streetable. I have the 112 lc which is a bit choppier , but IMO still very mild. Happiness is having a car run 10s , but not sound like a race car. I like the sleeper approach myself. I ran 11.66 with stock heads and no tuning. Good luck!!

Re: The search for the right cam... I would also go with the c1 cam. Its a very mild cam. Perfect for a every day driver. Look at James car, It hauls *** with it. Its proven and works.
