Default Decision on System

I'm trying to decide between 2 10"Rockford subs or 1 12" Infinity sub. Which would hit harder?

What models are the subs? What kind of box are they going into? What amp is going to push them? More info please.

If they are HE2's then hell yes they will hit harder. MOST of the time 2 10"s will hit harder then a single 12". More air mass moved.

If you go Infinity route, go with the perfect.

ditto...if you are just going for thump then put some power to two tens over a 12. However...remember the 12" has the ability to hit some lower freqs due to its size, and if done correctly you can make a single 12" hit pretty crazy.

I would say the Rockford 10s would hit harder but the 12" infinty will probably be cleaner. Never been a fan of either brand have installed them both, and there are alot of other options for alittle more money that are worlds better. How much money are you looking to spend on these subs? What amp do you plan to power them with?

I have either $700 or $1000, don't know yet, but I was planning on getting the millbox from Subthump so the t-top holder would still be functional. I've also got to get a new 6 1/2" sub for the sail.

Could throw 2 12" Kicker Comp VR's into a ttop box...they would work well with that airspace and can be had on ebay fairly cheap. Then compliment them with a good amp and you are set. Just something to think about.

I bought the SWR-1241D Alpine, and the Alpine MRP-350 amp. I got both of them online for $230. They hit so hard that I had to turn the gain almost all of the way down. I even built the box for $50. Here are some pics.

the 12w6 should sound awesome...im agreeing w/ sidewayz tho on the Comp Vr's, i had them in my other camaro and they sounded way better than the infinity kappas i had and i believe the vr's are basically the best bang for the buck...also look into some of the elemental designs subs...

I like the box, you did a nice job with it! I was so close to going with 2 10" type R's myself

If its a regular 12W6 probably want to give it somewhere around 300 watts I would guess, and a little higher if its a 12W6v2, maybe near the 400 watt range.

Thanks. I went with the 1 12" cause I wanted to keep most of my trunk space and I didn't want to put the stealth box in on the drivers side. I like the refraction I get from pointing it straight up at the glass, and cause I couldn't fit two tens in box at the bottom with enough airspace. I got .97 cubic feet with this one.

The 12w6 says about 300-350 watts butt I run mine with the jl 500 watt amp and it sounds great. If you are using a sealed box go with 500 watts, if a ported box dont go more than 300 watts.

I'm either going with 2 10W6. What amp would you go with?
