Default LS6 383ci. For My 67' GTO

I figured I would post up a thread about build to maybe help others, and help me figure our any potential issues down the road..

Build List

LS6 block
TSP 383ci Stroker kit, Wiseco pistons 11.5 :1 CR
Eagle crank
Eagle rods with ARP 2000 bolts
MS4 cam
PRC valve springs TSP recommended
LS7 lifters
Ported and milled LS6 heads
Performance Products Intake Manifold
90mm Throttlebody
60 lb injectors
06' ZO6 MAF
Headman 1 7/8" long tube headers
Built 4L65E Gearbox

BMR GM A-body Tubular suspension
Summit brand Disk brakes
10 Bolt posi rear end (for now)

Started with a Used Ls6 block that needed some TLC
Had it machined to fit my pistons and a fresh hone put in it..

Pistons

Eagle crank, *yes it was balanced, 99% of eagle cranks are way out*

Some Engine Assemble pictures

Getting a Test fit FYI you have to cut the hell out of the Floor to fit a T-56 or any Automatic Gear box... I made a New trans tunnel out of 16 ga. Used "corvette glue" and pop rivets to secure it and the floor is now stronger than it was before

Going in, Gear box is a 4l65E Built for some serious power

Starting the wiring!

Fuel pump in and wired

Random, But the wheels showed up

On the ground

Plumbing the engine, I used the Summit brand Push Lock AN lines and They were awesome and very affordable

All plumed and ready to fire.

Exhaust is done

ECU and Engine fueses mounted

Front suspension

Rear End

New bumper !!!

Before cleaning up all the wires

Cleaned up and ready to go

Hood is finally on

Right now the car is running kinda, on a base tune. It's supposed to go on the Dyno sometime this week to get it running right!!!!!!

I'm looking forward to your dyno results. I'm just getting done with a similar 383 for my '72 Chevelle.

I see a TR6 in the back ground....
any idea how hard it would be to shoehorn it into one of those

I am toying with the idea of taking on that task.

I can't see the pics for some reason... Do you have a link to an account or anything? And I'm going to pick your brain on this stuff a bit, since I'm planning a similar swap for my '66 (though it's a 4-speed car):

-Did you use chevelle engine mounts?
-Trans x-member (not that it really matters, since I'm going T56...)?
-Accessories (again, can't see the pics)?
-Are you running A/C?
-Oil pan?
-Wheels/tires (incl. backspace, etc.)?

Anyway, I'm gonna give you a regardless. Let us know how the BMR stuff works out - I'm leaning toward an SC&C/SPC setup myself.

edit: I know why the pics aren't working - the host is blocked at work. I'll check it out at home.

Yea I would love too... That Tr6 had the factory 6cyl with a M44 Eaton blower on it made 250 to the wheels and it's a blast...

I used BRP mounts, Phil Brewer (the owner) is a friend of mine and Really helped me out!!! Their mounts are affordable and they bolted right up, NO Fitment issues at all..

I'm running all factory F-body ACC. Except for a Sanden compressor for my AC.

Oil pan is a CTSV pan, fits like a charm..

I forgot the wheels specs but PM me and remind me to look it up!!!

The BMR stuff is Awesome, all of it fit well and does a awesome job of handling this motor.. I have really put a beating on this car the past few weeks and even took it drifting

Looks like a walbro pump, did you just plumb it to your stock pick-up or what?

any more pics of f-body accessory fitment? I'm doing a '67 chevelle LS2 deal and would like to get power steering and a/c in there. Did you use an f-body water pump too? Any trickery to the hoses, and what radiator is that?

Thanks,
TJ

Yea it's A walbro.. Plumed into the "stock pickup" I did cut the tank open and spot welded some baffles in it, and put some fuel cell foam in there to, to keep the fuel from sloshing around..

I'll take some more pics.. But KwikPerf.com has some great diagrams and they tell you exactly what you need..

Yes I'm using a f body water pump.. The Radiator is an Afco Racing radiator for a A-body Ls1 swap.. The lower hose is off a late model F body, and the upper hose is just a universal flex Rad. hose..

Does that radiator have a trans cooler in it? If not, what did you use?

thanks,
Jim

how the hell did you get those numbers?! i have a 383, more compression, more extensive heads, fast intake and a 6-speed and i will be lucky to get 500 to the wheels. if those are correct, i am more than impressed.

You had to cut the floor to get your trans to fit???

I didn't have that problem. Do you have your engine sitting high or far back?

Nice car BTW.
