T56 Lubrication Theory. We all know we cant put a hypoid type oil in our T56's Because it will ruin the blocker rings.
But we also dont like the stupid water like viscosity of ATF in our gear box. And lets face it they always sound noisy.
In theory, a motor cycle shares its engine oil with its transmission, im reffering to wet clutches here. And with the friction modifiers in the oil i cant possibly see why it would be a bad idea to put it in a T56 since it is designed to work with clutch type material.
Im going to buy a 5L of motul 5100 this week and give it a go. provided that i cant be given a definitive reasonm of why it will ruin my gearbox.
Stay tuned for further results, and ill try throw in an oil and wear analysis.

Unless you're 100% sure of the mixture you're running and how the fiction liners will react to it (in terms of lubriction, friction , and durability/reaction) I see no reason to try it.

It's a VE commodore (G8 for you guys) alot people don't like the gear noise on idle. Mods to car with L98 engine.
Cam, pushrods, headers, dual 3inch and single plate brass clutch. We are going to

Well we took it to the local track today. Experiment is over aswell as our T56. Although ok under easy driving probably due to my heavy hand and the gearbox being crunchy already. Oil got hot and was INSTANTLY un drivable. Allowed the frictions to slip and not bite. ATF let's the necessary friction occur to allow the synchros to work properley. Oil is great on the gears just made shifting impossible. Until the cluster shaft grenaded. Sorry all still no golden bandaid
