Default Tallest tire/DR for 17x9.5?

Found a thread over 17x11's discussing this, but couldn't find any info on this. All the discussion was about how WIDE but not how tall.

Looking for 27-28" tall tires, that will fit a 17x9.5 wheel, anything? Switch to drag wheels? lol

Not to Jack the thread but I'm thinking about getting 17s all around with nittos and using my stock wheels for dr's. My ? Is what would be the best fit dr for the stock 16" wheel and what's the best size to go all around for 17" x 9.5 or 11 i'd prefer them

I thought the M&H were 275/50/17s, not 55s... I'm thinking about those myself, I'm hitting the rev limiter in 4th gear, need a few more mph and I don't want to swap gears. I currently have 275/40/17s on the back.
