Default New lid suggestion

Alright so I bought an MTI lid from ws6store, I've had it on my car for 3 days and this morning I popped my hood to check and see if it was wearing anywhere on the new lid.

Come to find out there is a couple pretty good cracks about as long as my pointer finger on the back side. I've heard people having problems with this happening, my question is there a better fitting lid, that's made better. I was thinking slp would be the way to go, any ideas?

Thanks for any suggestion guys

Fast toys is an option. I have an SLP from the previous owner and it seems to fit good.

It's on the back side? Did you tighten the band clamps up too much? If you did, that can cause the lid to crack.

My SLP fits ok. I use weather stripping stuff to help seal it up, but I guess its better than it being so tight that it cracks or something.

The hard abs plastic lids are very easy to crack, I've had a couple of abs plastic lids,MTI being one of them, and they both cracked. I've had my SLP lid at least 7yrs and have never had a problem with it. IMO get a SLP lid and you'll never that problem again.

I don't think I tightened the clamp to much, but when closing the lid clips it seemed harder than with the stock lid. So that might of done it.

Anyone have a slp lid they're wanting to sell?

imo you have the bigger WS6 airbox and you won't see that much benefit. what you will do is chop up the now desirable WS6 airbox.

I had an SLP lid for a couple years and it fit good. But eventually I wanted a different look and went to a clear lid. Had it about half a year with no problems and love the look.

I had the SLP and it was ok, it never fit perfect. Then I got the Fast Toys 85mm but it still never fit right and it rubs on my hood.

WS.6 hood mod... I did this a few years back. ... I decided against the SLP "cold-air" intake.

So the WS6 has a bigger air box? I wouldnt have guessed that. So are you saying that I'd be wasting my money for the lid?
