Will I need headers with 224/224 114 cam?
I am putting a 224/224 114 lsa cam in my car in the next week. I have the stock manifold, stock headers, and a y-pipe with a cutout after it. Will that flow enough or do I need to get some headers? Also, are any good headers CA smog legal?

like attack said, you can do it but you wont see much.
only shorties are legal in CA. The 224/224 will pass ca smog, so if you could sneak through the visual and at least get some mid's, youd be fine
LS6intake + Lt's is what you need

it'll be a "newbie mod mistake" if you do it w/o any new headers. dont shoot yourself in the foot, if you dont think you can get away with at least midlengths put your cash else where....

Your putting the cart before the horse here. I'd waive off on the cam install. Get some headers, an LS6 manifold, an ASP pulley and a ported TB before you stick that cam in...or you'll get to tune it twice.
You do have a lid and catback...right?

I was under the assumption that the stock tuning would work for my cam, will it not? I've got a suncoast creations ram-air hood and a catback system with a cutout after the Y. I've already got the cam, are you saying that I should not even install it? I will get headers eventually but I'm not sure if I can get LT's because of smog. If the LT's will still pass emmissions then I might get them I'm not as concerned about visual. What kind of ground clearance will the LT's give me? I am already lowered 1.5" and have to go over speedbumps sideways.

Ok, but don't get me wrong, the others are right. I am and you will be cheating yourself out of the true potential of that cam. Headers should be your very next mod, but there is nothing wrong with having that cam and stock headers, you just won't have all of the power it can provide.

So if I put a pulley on it, is that a freebie for installation, meaning that it's something you do anyways? I've heard the ASP pulleys might need to be machined, how can you tell if they do or not?

another guy put in the same cam with basically your same setup and put down 330rwhp m6. his system was completely chocked off.
if your going to go shorties and keep it smog legal i'd sell the cam (wont be hard to do) and get a smaller one under 224 duration; tr220 114, tsp 220 114, B1/T1, comps 216/220, 212/218, ect.
get LT's or at least macs if you plan to install the tr224, and you can run on stock tune but you'll really need a tune to take full advantage of the cam and delete codes and such.
i have an asp pulley and rollmaster double chain and there is no clearance issues and didnt have to have it shimmed.

Sheesh...with the hoops you're required to jump through in CA...it would be worth it to have a pseudo out of state address and run around with Oregon, Nevado or NM tags!

So they won't let a 'race/show car' have CA plates? That sucks.
