Default Happy 9th Birthday!!

To my battery....

Starts up nice and easy every time, but it isn't holding its voltage very well. It's getting cold in NC and I've had the low voltage gauge sweeps a couple times if it has sat for ~18-20 hours

I'm running two 10" subs and 4 channel amp, looking for a good suggestion as a replacement.

Hell, if I ever got nine years out of a battery, there would be no question... I'd buy the same kind again.

I'm pleased that my Optima red top is in its fifth year and still going.

+1 to the red top Optima. Mines going on 6 years this winter. But you can't go wrong with another Interstate battery; the warranty on those things is awesome! 5 year over the counter no questions asked exchange policy!! Better than the 3 year on the Optima any day!

^ Haha nice, I did want to get my battery a little bday hat. Everyone I've told that I have a 9 year old battery has been like, OMG YOU NEED TO GET A NEW ONE SOON but she fires up perfect. I'm not any battery expert, do they just die one day without warning? If I drive it every day I don't have any issues, its only if I let it sit for one whole day that I get the low voltage sweep.

I bought my car in 2006 and the battery is still holding up fine. I wonder how old it actually is now lol.

Sorry to bring up this old thread I made but the battery is about to hit 12 years. I just couldn't replace it and wanted to see how far it could go.

It's getting cold here and I have had two hard starts in the last week, if it's above 50* then it starts fine.
