v6 has a bad stumble at 70 We just put headers and blocked off the egr on my buddies 3800 series 2 camaro..i think its a 1999. We took it for a drive the other day and got cruising at 70 and then punched it, it had a bad stumble and popping or what ever you call it...It would not go past 71..We just replaced the fuel pump and still no idea...what could it be...Oh and we did block the egr. All the 02 sensors are in, but one of them broke so we just used it to block the hole in the exhaust...i know we got to replace that, but if that dont work what could it be..

Possibly a cat... My gf's V6 bird wouldn't go past 70 sometimes when her cat went bad. Maybe when you pulled the EGR off, you knocked a bunch of carbon down the hole that damaged the cat or maybe whatever you used as a gasket has damaged the cat.
If you used any kind of silicone sealant, that will **** up a cat quicker than you can say oops...

What headers did you install?
Replace that 02 sensor pronto.
And did you change the plugs and wires? The straight boots will have a tendency to burn on some of the aftermarket headers. I'd recommend getting new wires with 90° ends and might be a good idea to invest in spark plug boot protectors.

The cat in my 96 V6 firebird broke into pieces and one of them flipped sideways in the shell blocking flow, caused a similar issue. Bang on the cat and see if it rattles, could easily be the problem.

no cats and they are pacesetter headers
not sure what 02 sensor it was...i did not put them in..
plus its not my car..
have to check on if its throwing codes or not...

Sometimes it won't throw a code. I had a plugwire get burned, it'd buck/studder when on the throttle but was fine at cruise. No codes, even HPT didn't pick it up.
Have your buddy get the O2 sensors replaced (do both sides (left header and right header), it's a great idea to go ahead and have both sides working properly.
Get him on www.fullthrottlev6.com and we can set him straight on any issues.

had a similar issue with my 99 V6.
To my understanding, the issue is caused by the transmission. I was informed that either rebuilding the transmission and / with adding a shift kit with a Corvette servo eliminates the issue.
You might have better luck researching the issue on a couple of V6 3800 forums.
