Some specifics on what you are doing with them would help.

But either way, I got 315/35/17 Nitto DRs out back, and they hook pretty good on the tollways here from a 40 roll.

Not sure how they would do at the track...

And I've never had any experiences with BFGs.

If you are looking for a daily driver tire then the Nitto's are the way to go, I have heard the BFG's hook slightly better, but wear down quick as hell, and I hook up just fine on the Nitto's just fine from a dig or low roll.

Tires will be on a daily driver , I was leaning towards Nitto's but thought I'd give BFG's a chance... Heard they wear down quick as hell also ....

I've run them all, and nitto is really the only option on the street in the rain. Even then, you have to be careful, and make sure you slow it down and have tread left.

The MT's are the best out of the 3 DR's I have run.

Might want to look in to toyo R888's as well. They are an R compound tire, but not a drag radial. They hook very well.

I had the NT555R's on my other 30th TA with a widened stock wheel and never got any wheel spin...
Best 60': 1.661
Best 1/8 Mile ET: 7.476
Best 1/8 Mile MPH: 92.27

The BFG's hooked really good tho, even till they were bald.

im in the same boat! I am looking at some 285/35/18 Nitto 555R as my car is a daily driver also. I also considered BFG, but from doing searches i hear they were pretty crappy, and some people said that their tires cracked? not so sure about that.

I ran DR's for years on my 3 2v mustangs(215-350rwhp). I even ran them from time to to time on my z06(435rwhp), but they are not a daily driver tire.

If you have to commute without hesitation of the weather, DR's are not the answer. If you want to pull over and wait until the rain stops and the roads begin to dry, then that is fine. Nitto's you can get away with if you drive slow and have tread.

I'd suggest a good DR on some spare wheels, and a good street tire for the road.

a 315 nitto is going to be skinnier than a 315 BFG.
nitto 555Rs lasted me about a year and 9-10K miles. i have NT05Rs right now and theyll have lasted about half that. they do hook a lot better than the 555s though.

i dont have any experience with BFG DRs. but i am a BFG fan boy haha

Vote for nittos, they last and do ok in the rain.

Mke u seen how bad *** the nt05r are. U seen how soft they are. I would go with a nt05r I have them on my camaro and they been lasting. They dead hook in the track street and damn good in the rain.they are fat and look good not like the 555r.

depends on how much power the OP is making...

i ran the Nitto 555's (not the R) on my 400 whp charger.. but it was heavy too.
no problems in the rain until they got bald. hooked great except in cold weather.

I had a set of Mickey T drag radials on 17" wheels for when i took it to the track. they would dead hook on the street, but were plain SCARY in the rain the few times i got caught in it.

i would rather run a M&H drag radial on the street or a Nitto 555R or a Nitto NT05.
but i havent had personal experience with either of the 3.

i was planning on trying the M&H on the street next, since they have more tread than the MT's. anyone run these?

(these will be on a vette, the charger is about to get SOLD.... and i have a truck to drive if the weather is shitty, but you know how the rain will come out of nowhere so thats why i shy away from the MT's on the street)

BFGDR>NITTDR

BFG's are over an inch wider and also hook up 3x better. my BFG's had no problem holding 800ft/lbs from a 45 roll

I'm assuming you're talking about the 555R and not the NT05R, which are COMPLETELY different tires from Nitto.

The 555R will be the best for a daily driver.

BFGs, as far as traction, are somewhere in between the 555R and NT05R

Tinkrd have u try the nt05r? Do a search on Google or even here. I have not heard one bad complaint about them.they don't waist fast like the bfgs and MT,the work great in the rain. I have gone 65+ in the rain in them and doesn't feel like its moving side to side. I have cut 1.7 on them but I'm a newb still at dragracing. These cost less then the bfgs and MT.
