charcoal canister?
what is the best charcoal canister to use? its going in a 79 camaro with a ls1the evap has been deleted from the pcm so i will just need to run the line from the tank to the canister and then to the purge valve port on the engine. I do knoe want to run a vented cap.
If you have any info make model or better yet a part number that would be great
Thanks

If you don't have to pass emissions tests, which you do not, I wouldn't bother with a canister. If you want to run one for some reason, though, you could find one for the '79 because california had evap emissions requirements since 1968.
FYI, if you are running a purge line to the engine, but you have disabled the FI calibration compensation you may get some poor idle on hot days.

I am using my stock 71 Chevelle one.. as you want to do.. will work..
your stock 79 one should have a few ports on top of it.. Tank, PCV, Carb and Vacumn are usually the ones.. I just connected the Tank, and a vacumn source and plugged the rest, or you can T or Y PCV and Vacumn port to the EVAP port on the intake.
one good reason to use it, is Fuel vapor when you park inside.. without it, you will smell vapor.

Just about any type or setup to vent the tank through a canister will solve the parking vaper problem... You can even mount a small one on the frame near the tank to hide it.. I've hear Mustang one are small.. maybe if you can find one from a f-body (sits on top of the tank) and remove it and use that one ???

If EVAP has been deleted I would not worry about a canister.....
I capped off the intake port where the evap was connected..... and removed the entire system and lines......
On the tank put a 1 way check valve on the vent tube and stuck a small spectre breather on the end......
Oh yeah I run a vented cap too.... No problems so far... 4000K+miles
