Default Rear Trailing Arms? BMR or UMI ?

Hey you guys Im having a little trouble finding the thread about the rear suspension upgrades for the 06+ SS's . i know that our cars have trailing arms that are on a offset but dont remember what vendor offered an upgrade.

Im almost 100 percent it was UMI but dont remember. believe BMR offered thicker arms that rubbed and i think UMI had a slighter offset that worked. this is off the top of my head so i could be off. but if you guys know or have them installed please drop in. comments are always welcomed.

Hello,

I have heard of other brands using larger diameter tubing which lead to tire rubbing with wider tires. We use 1.250" DOM tubing which is not larger than the factory arms and we haven't had any tire clearance issues.

If I can help anymore please ask. Also this item is on sale right now too

Thank you!
Ryan

For them to work they need to be on an offset can not be dead center. Would you be able to clarify it. And maybe a pic?

No they don't need to be offset, just bolt in like the factory control arms do. They are the same width as factory arms.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

For the 06+ the bar is offset on the mounting bracket . Needed to clear the 18 inch wheels.

I was under the impression that the ss suspension didn't change. Although, I have been wrong before.

Well the 06+ SS's got the "updated" parts although some are kinda one off" the sways are bigger. Struts are different at least in tha rear.trailing arms are rectangular and on an offset I believe on the LTZ and SS .

Guys on the other w-body forums used to use the GMPP trailing arms as an upgrade to the factory parts. They have been discontinued by GM. So UMI's or GXP traling arms have been talked about. It is said that the GXP trailing arms are the same as the GMPP one's. Plus the GXP's are much cheaper than both.
