i mean they are pretty damn quick imo, all i have is a bolt on lt1 and its enough to have fun with, does anyone else just not care that you arent the fastest car around anymore?

I loved my LT1 when I had it. I will say though the LS platform has a lot more potential though. Aside from that though if another LT1 car came my way though I wouldn't mind having one. I agree with you they are surprisingly quick. People just underestimate them because they're oldish now.

Yeah man. Sometimes it's not all about going fast. To me if the car looks good and you're happy with it that's all that matters. My friends are always on me all the time because my car is stock basically. I'm happy with it though so I don't care.

Me too ha ha. College is expensive. Look at this way when we get out of school and theoretically have sweet jobs (with this economy that is looking gloomier by the second) we can spend money on our cars ha ha.

Because all it takes to get an LS into the 12s is a Lid and some decent tires. It takes a lot more to make LTs fast, thats why nowadays no one bothers with them

Lt1s are slow, thats exactly why I sold My 00 Formula to buy a 96 Formula Ws6. BTW my 96 went 13.3 with a cat back and old bald nittos. Now it goes mid 11s at 120 NA and will be faster next yr.

Not trying to start an LS vs. LT argue shitfest, but for how amazingly cheap you can buy LT1 cars nowadays they are GREAT value. You can put an LT1 fbody into 11's easy, which is very respectable even with today's top performing factory street cars.

With a mild build you can still have less cash into the setup than some other people pay for their cars to begin with.

Dollar for dollar, LT1 cars offer some serious bang for the buck.

Your LT1 is faster than the majority of 60's and 70's muscle/pony cars so "fast" is relative. My current LS1 is noticeably faster than my former LT1, but it's just a "car" to me - I'm not in love with it like I was with my LT1, which IMO is a better looking, better sounding car than my LS1.

I always got compliments on how it looked - never comments on it being slow. So far I've done the same minor appearance mods to the LS1 as I had on my LT1, the only diff being LT1 = silver, LS1 = pewter and I'm curious if I get the same compliments.

BTW, LS1s are dropping in price a lot since the 5th gens have been out. Three years ago it was about a $3k difference between a LT and a LS, now it's only about a grand between the 97 and 98 if you look hard.

The LT1 is a great way to get into a fun car. Not every one drags these things.

Mine actually goes AROUND corners.
