Cool Mike, can't wait to see how it performs! Still think you outta stick with the M6 though

I beat ya to starting a new build though, dropped my 4-bolt block and a brand spankin new 3.875 crank off with Patterson Racing over a month ago, and judging by their progess so far, it looking like I'll have my junk back and ready for assembly likely in late Jan or early Feb See ya Sept 3rd!

Nice to hear Mike. Santa was good to you this year

Are you going to change anything with your top end? Or just a bottom-end change?

Good man, I was hoping you'd upgrade your cam

That ride will haul the mail, when your done. (with this round of mods)

When you replace your upper control arms, is there any weight difference between the UMI units and the factory units?

The UMI stuff is definitely lighter by a few pounds a piece.

UMI makes a few compromises with weight for strength. They aren't the lightest, but they are definitely some of the strongest. Same with their k-member too.

Totally agree with Joe, the UMI K-member is lighter than stock but by far not the lightest on the market. With that said Ive never heard of a UMI k-member failure, and have seen it on almost every other brand. Plus they have a double tubed center section that will save a lot of parts if you come down hard from a big wheel stand. Upper a-arms dont save much but they work better than stock and how could you leave one part unchanged.

Joe, you have a PM.

This past fall, I installed a set of their front lower a-arms, and they were a lot lighter than factory. I had thought about doing the uppers, and I just wasnt sure if it was worth the money, over weight savings.

For weight only its not worth doing the uppers.

If I had a machine shop and Id do the short Myself. Theres some things you cant do in the garage like machining a block and dyno tuning. lol The rest will all be done in my tiny one car garage.

Ah, just machine work, I thought they were building the whole motor or something. I was gonna say that, doesn't sound like a new build, lol.
