You can just switch it out, the synthetics, blends, and coventional pertoleum based oils are compatable.

It wouldn't happen to be Mobil 1 10w-30 would it? That oil is known to be very thin for a 10w-30. Maybe try a different brand before you switch back to conventional?

Seriously doubt switching between syn 30 and dino 30 is going to help any more than trying a different brand of syn 30 or going to a 40.

try running conventional castrol 10-40. It works for me because I had lifter noise with the thinner oils also.

i know its expensive but royal purple does wonders i start a noticing more valvetrain noise around 1500 miles into the oil but these cars are just naturally loud valvetrain noise but they love sythetic oils not just power wise but gas mileage especially

I used to get that noise when running mobil one and it bugged the **** out of me. I have since changed to 10w30 Pennzoil Ultraclean and its fine now.

I also have heard that Mobil One is a thinner oil.

I run the Pennzoil Plat. Plus now and I won't go back to Mobile 1 or Royal Purple. They are just too thin for me. You might as well be running mineral oil in your motors.
