Default Killing 2 Birds w/ 4 Stones -- Need Help

Alright Im looking for some input here. Ive done alot of research and searching the last few days and found a lot of good info. I just need help deciding whats best for me.

The 2 Birds:

00' WS6 TA - Stock LS1 Calipers. 3600 Stall & 3.42 Gears. Best of 11.76

86' TA - Stock Calipers. 2800 Stall & 3.73 Gears. Ongoing Project

The 00' TA is my DD that I run stock 01-02 WS6 wheels for the street. The 86' TA was my first car. Bought it when I was 15 (Im 20 now) with a 2.8 5 Speed and 69k miles. Its an ongoing project that now has a 400SBC & TH400. Im looking to purchase a set of Drag Wheels/Tires that I can use for BOTH cars.

I have been looking at wheels and Ive narrowed it down to Weld Pro Stars or Summit Fast Fives. I dont like the look of many other wheels, and these are priced reasonably. The Summit wheels are what Im leaning towards, Ill live with them being a few pounds heavier than the Welds for the money Ill be saving. I have also narrowed down the wheels specs too.

5 x 4.75" Bolt Pattern

15"x8" Rears
- 5.5 Back Space
15"x4" Fronts
- 1.75 Back Space

Now for the tires.

Most people run 165/80/15 Front Runners. I have 2 used 175/65/15s from a Mini Cooper that I snagged. Will these be too short, or can I use these and save about $200?

For the rears I need some help. Its split about 50/50 some member's use a 28" Drag Radial and some use a 26" Drag Radial. Between my 00' with 3600 Stall/3.42s and my 86' with 2800 Stall/3.73s what do you guys think is best for me? Generally taller tires are used for deeper gears which my 00' doesn't have, so Im leaning towards a 26" tire or equivalent? I was thinking maybe 275/50/15s Mickey Thompson ET Streets?

Before I help guys!

Last season when I had just bought the 00' to save money I threw 26x10.5x16 Mickey Thompson Bias Plys on stock thirdgen GTA wheels I had for the rear, and ran my WS6 wheels up front. If anyone wants to see pics of that Ill post some up, some people think it was unique and liked the look and some hated it. But I made do with what I had and managed 11.76 @ 114 with that setup. Now for next season I want a real drag setup.

cant help ya on the tires but keep in mind the 3rd gen's rear end is shorter so you'll need some spacers or some massive BFH-ing if you want to put 4th gen offset wheels on it...

that, or if you size 'em to the 3rd gen, they'll stick out like a **** on the 4th

I have already taken a BFH to the thirdgen. As of right now it has 295/50/15s on stock wheels with no rubbing. I know they are too wide for stock 7" wide wheels. My dad made me buy them when I got my license. 2.8 5 Speed with 295/50/15 rears means no burnouts or brake stands for junior lol. They kept me out of sommme trouble.

I guess what my main question is will my ABS function properly running 26" Drag Radial Rears and 24" Mini Cooper Fronts?

Your ABS will be affected but to what degree exactly I can't say. But yes it will affect it. As far as rims go... since the 3rd gen is harder i would go for rims that fit that since you won't need the spacers for the 4th gen. Are they just for racing or daily driving?

But if I run 26" Rears and 26" Fronts my ABS won't be effected?

These rims will solely be for racing. I have WS6 Rims for the 00' for DDing, and I have a set of 15" Firebird S/E Rims and a set of 16" Gold GTA Rims for the 86'.

I think 15x8 5.5 BS and 15x4 1.75 BS will work with both cars. The Firebird S/E Rims are 15x7 4.5 BS and the Gold GTA Rims are 16x8 5.25 BS.

Does that seem right?

Get a narrowed Rear for the 4th gen(2 1/2 each side) then orded wheels..as long as you keep a stock length rear in the 3rd gen you can swap them out if you wish..

Iv got a 2000 and an 87 GTA. The GTA will never be done but I plan on putting my Bogarts on it to see what I like them..They are 5in backspacing and narrowed 2.5in each side.

What do you suggest for front tires? Should I run 26" fronts or can I run the 24" fronts I have?
