Default A few HID questions

I know DDM Tuning is a popular seller of HIDs, but as of late ive heard of shipping issues with them. Are there any ebay sellers now that are reputable? Also I need new housings to replace the H4666 sealed beams on my LT1. Where would be a good place to get those? Also what color scale are you guys going with? Ive been recommended 5-6K.

I have DDM tunings 6K's in my lows and 8K in my Fogs , both are great , but 5-6K are the most popular. Im not sure about what shipping issues people worry about with them.. unless they're out of stock , they ship pretty fast.. and I actually live in Cyprus.. My order was shipped out in a few days , took 10 days to arrive with usps international but thats another story

Hey hitman! I've bought 6 kits from DDM Tuning over the last year or so.. I've never had a shipping problem with them. Usually about a day after your order they email you with tracking info and everything. If you'd rather go ebay.. go to google and type in "ebay seller supervtec" and look up the "Super Slim" kits from him.

As far as scale goes.. it all depends what you want. 4500K is around PURE white, which has the most lumen output (best visibility). As you go UP the scale, you get more color and less lumens, so less light output. 8000K is the happy medium between the two, which is a mix of blue/white. However if you want to see the best, I'd go with somewhere around pure white.

Also never an issue with shipping from DDM. Pay for the 2 day and you will get it in 2 days too, if you need them quickly.

I think issues of recent complaints are related to holiday shipping and are attributable to generally slower deliveries over the holidays. AND DDM was closed some days over the holidays. I have ordered from them twice. No issues either time, and one order was placed between xmas and new year's this year. I paid for 2 day shipping and got it in two days.

Adam is the only person I know personally that's had a major problem with DDMtuning. I have bought 3 sets of HIDs of theirs with no issues. Two are on my car and one set is on Adams car.

I'd recommend the BLS conversion if they make them for your car.

Didnt have any issues with DDM. I got 5k for my fogs which I love. Mostly pure white with a touch of blue... look great. All depends on how white/blue you want them. 5-6k is right in the middle of the spectrum.

And check out lmc truck for the housings... they are awesome!

LT1. Since the OP has an LT1. The better option for LS1 Birds is the LMC housings (you know this).

Um... What? You convert to whatever the housing requires. If it requires a D2S bulb then you would convert the wiring to D2S wiring... If you have a question about the LS1 LMC housings then post in the LS1 LMC housing thread.

That is strange. I am pretty sure I saw them on there last week, but just checked an cannot find them.

Separate question related to HIDs: On three occasions since I installed my kit in my 09 SS 12/31/10, the passenger headlight has failed to turn on. Drivers lights every time. If I restart the car or turn lights off and then on, it (passenger side) will ignite. Coincidence or not, I think everytime it has happened, it has been after I remote started the car (factory remote start). I bought an entire separate kit for spare parts even though they are covered under warranty. I am thinking my first step is to replace the passenger side ballast only and then see what happens. Everybody Agree? Other ideas? Thanks in advance !

I ordered their regular sized HID kit for my dad's new Superduty - work great like like their slim HID kit on my daily driver. Wanted to order a set for the fog lights.
