4l60E parts list needed
Hi
I have an Impala SS clone with LS3. This is my daily drive winter and summer. The setup is:
91-96 Caprice with reinforced frame hd suspension and Impala ss exterior.
LS3 crate engine.
2000 f-body 4L60E trans with 50k miles
2000 f-body wiring harness and computer.
3.42 gear and true trace diff.
And I am using EfiLive v2 for tuning.
When I started to tune the upper rpm area I was hitting the rew limiter at 6700 rpm even thought I had the shift point at 6250 rpm. Then I felt that the trans suddenly slipped on
light throttle in fourth gear several times. I don’t know if it was the lockup that failed, or if it was the 4 gear slipping. The 1- 2 gear shift went softer, and the oil got darker in color.
I changed to a high mileage replacement trans for the winter, and now I plan on what to do with my slipping trans.
Obviously the stock trans is not holding up to the power and torque of my new engine.
I am an experienced motor mechanic with cars as a hobby. I am not doing regular overhaul off autos on work, but have done 15-20 auto transmission during the years.
A normal overhaul is no problem, but the problem is what parts to use, and what modification that needs to bee done with this performance level.
I have read through a lot of posts on the forum and it is obvious that there is some experienced transmission builders that posts on this forum.
Some of this treads are old, so I would like to se an updated list of parts of what I need to change and modify to reach this performance level.
The parts listed need to function well together and be strong enough without the pro builder’s secret tricks.
I would like to keep the stock converter, if it isn’t strong reason for changing it.
I want to use Efilive for shift time, line pressure, and tcc pwm tuning.
I am located in Norway, so shipping a transmission to one of the sponsors is no option.
Do some of you builders have a suggestion for an updated parts list?

Google probuilt automatics. Dana has complete kits with modifications and special instructions. I think you can call him with what you want and he'll put a kit together specifically for you. He even comes on this site sometimes.
