Basically just that. I am going to be there in 4 months and my wife and my contract will up with our current carrier. What has your experience been like with your carrier - particularly in regards to reception?

i have verizon it had great recpetion even up in the hills in diamond bar at my moms..i had tmobile it SUCKED always dropping calls terrible reception

Verizon. Couldn't be happier, never drop calls and get reception pretty much everywhere..

I have at&t have service everywhere. when my friends come over with verizon they have a real hard time with service.

I have a friend in alpine and he has more bars at his house then i do (he has verizon)

where you moving to? most areas you should have perfect service.

I have Verizon and usually don't have any coverage problems even in the middle of BFE... Except inside my apartment in Burbank. Go figure.

Thanks for the responses so far guys. We have narrowed it down to 3 places we really love. Our favorite is in Gaslamp One is right downtown. The last one is in Hillcrest. We haven't had any problems with reception the dozen or so times we've been down there in the last 6-8 months to lock down a job for my wife and to look at places. I shouldn't be worried.

there are a ton of gays in hillcrest and the town is very gay oriented, that does not seem to be a problem for you though just giving you a heads up.

Northpark is a nice area you might want to look into. I dont think with any services you will have a problem with reception.
