This subject tends to get over-analyzed on here quite often.
Dexron 3 ATF non-synthetic. I normally use Chevron since its a good quality oil, and is sold at a local oil supply depot about 5-10min down the road. Any other name brand Dex 3 will work just fine. IMO, it's a waste of money to use anything else.

The clutch hydraulics use dot3/4 brake fluid, the trans calls ATF. If you look on the driver side of your transmission, theres a bright orange sticker that says "Dexron III" which is ATF.

People have used Synchromesh in the T-56 with good success. It isn't one I've personally tried, but I wouldn't hesitate to at least try it if I wasn't already happy with the ATF that is already in there (Torco).

Exactly how would one know if they are benefiting/hurting with different types of fluid? Symptoms?

I've got a Monster Level 3 Install coming up very shortly and needed to know the answer to this question.

Looks like I'll be picking up some Dex III ATF.

When refilling, I know to add fluid just to the point of it coming out the fill hole, but how much fluid does a T56 normally require? I'd like to know so I can purchase and have enough on hand.

Thanks for posting up guys.
