Default Camaro/Ebay Projectors

If you have a 98-02 Camaro, with ebay projector headlights and HIDs, I would like to see some pictures of the light output. I have done some research, and some people have complained about the light output. I would like to go with some headlights like these, just without the all the queer halo/LED stuff:

Anyone have any other good looking headlights with some pics of the light output? I want to get headlights that are as stock looking as possible, but with projectors. Thanks for the help!

If you want this, there is no way around a retrofit.

I kinda figured this, but the headlights I posted up, I can have those setup so that the LEDs and Halo's won't ever light up right? So they will somewhat look stock until you get up close and see that there are halo's in the headlight?

I don't have pics at the moment of light output BUT i can tell you mine are alot brighter than stock. But I'm running HID h4 bulbs which improves the light output alot. I will try and get some pics posted on here of a good dark street. I would recommend getting DDM HID kit if you decide on these. Also the LED's and Halos don't have to be hooked up!

Do you have the 35 watt, or 55 watt HID kit? Since I am going with projectors, I am really leaning toward the 55 watt kit. Also, what temperature bulb did you get? I am leaning toward 4300K since that is supposed to be the best light output.

55watt 6000K. There is some blue in the light. If you want mostly white get 4300 or 5000k. Also the 55w kit washes some of the color anyways so a 6000k 55w would be the same as a 35w 5000k. Once I got mine aimed down the road properly it's really bright!!

I have 35 watt 6000k on my DD (98 Monte Carlo) and the light output is majorly improved so I definitely hear you on that one. Did you do your fog lights with HIDs as well, I was planning on that, but did not know if I should go with a 35, or 55 watt setup for that? Any opinions? Thanks again.

The fogs are stock for now but I will be getting another HID 55w 6000 kit. From what I've read 55w in the fogs are fine as they should not melt.

Bene, thanks for the picture man! That is what I was looking for!

sscamaroburn02, I noticed that you said to get a DDM HID kit, why did you say that? I have an ebay HID kit in my Monte Carlo for at least three years now with no issues whatsoever? Those DDM kits are like 170 bucks, whereas you can a 55 watt HID kit off ebay for like 50 bucks.

I've only read great things about DDM kits. I got mine for $70 shipped. Got it in about 3 business days. This also included the harness to hook up directly to the battery I recommend that also

Well if I can get one that cheap then sure I will definitely do that, especially with that separate harness.

Did you have to change anything so that when you lock your car or anything the lights don't flash? I know that is a real quick way to burn up the ballasts on HID kits.

ddmtuning.com
I have my halos, leds wired into the fogs. Only the DRLs flash when I lock/unlock the car. At night it looks real cool with leds, halos, drls and fogs all on at same time. I disabled my auto headlights so they turn on manually now so I can ride around at dusk with just the halos. I like it!

ddm sent me a kit that worked for a week, then the ballasts died. they never sent me new ones after going through their warranty process. they are also very hard to get a hold of and not that helpful when you do

that's strange. I called them about 3 times in a week about different questions and never had a hard time getting ahold of them.

I searched the site and they had 2 HID kits, the raptor one was 30 bucks, and then there was another one for 170, as previously mentioned. Both kits were 35 watt as well? You don't have a link do you? Also, how did you disable the auto headlights. I personally don't like auto headlights and have wanted manual headlights since I bought this car, lol.

Are you referring to me (OP)? If you are, I may need some wiring help with wiring it so I can have my low beams/fogs stay on when I turn my high beams on.

the ones for $170 are D1s bulbs which are only used in cars that came with hids from the factory.

The raptor kit is the one you want to get. pick your bulb, pick your wattage, and pick your color. You can buy them from ebay if you like however ddm is cheaper and has a better reputation. Ive had an ebay no name set on my car for about 2 years now aswell without any problems id just rather deal with a storefront instead of an ebay operation. i just ordered a 55w kit from DDM because my 2 year old ebay bulbs are getting less blue, less bright, but still function flawlessly

DDM tuning does not respond to emails very well, however they do answer their phones. A member here went to their shop in sandiego one time and he said they were extremely busy filling orders and selling to walk ins.
