Default What's a good LQ4 setup?

Can someone recommend a good cam and stall size for a daily driver Trans Am with a Th350? I asked a performance shop and they said around 238-242. Going with an LS6 intake and headers. Would like the car to be at least 400rwhp and a little drivability doesn't scare me but i'd like to keep the gas mileage decent.

also dont know what gear your running but this could be a disaster.....you go to small trying to get mileage/drivability you wont be happy and will feel like you wasted money....

go bigger than you should .....you will be keeping shell and bp in business with gas LOL
you decision in the end as always
good luck buddy

what yr car is it going in?carb or EFI?whats your budget?you won't need a big cam to make 400rwhp.a TSP 228r or a torquer v2 cam pkgs mite work for you.

80 Trans Am.. Honestly the highest speeds I see going to school and back is 55mph(speed limit 45mph) and that's only for about 2 miles so an overdrive trans wasn't high on my list. I am using the stock trans so once it goes I definitely will upgrade to a 4l60 or 6 speed but I am hoping the 350 will carry me to summer.

It's EFI, budget is whatever it takes, $1500?

My 70 Chevelle and 70 Camaro got like 14-16city with well built 355's, I would hope a nice size cammed 6.0 would get about the same with EFI and all that.

Thinking MS3, LS6 intake, headers. What size stall would I need?

I love the thump of a big cam, I don't race but I like having the power.

Here's what it's going in..

With an 11:1 lq4 with milled 243's, and a th350, I was recommended the same 238/242, .600/.610, 110+4 cam that I'm thinking you were (futral cam?)

an ms3, g5x3, or similar high-230's/low 240's cam would do rather well I would think.

The most knowledgeable cam guys seem to be Patrick G or Predator Z from what I have read.
