You are experiencing alternator whine. An RCA cable is near a power wire somewhere between the headunit and amp. Make sure the power wire was run on the opposite side of the car from the RCA's. If a store installed it, take it back and they should fix the problem.

Are you using the factory head unit or a aftermarket unit? More often then not the alternator whine is because of a ground loop not a RCA near a power wire. But a RCA near a power wire can sometimes cause that whinning problem. But since you just installed a sub amp I dont see how you can get alternator noise from the RCAs running to your amp. Cause the sound is coming out of your interior speakers.

Not Nessarily You Can Get Whine Out Of Subs Which Is Realy Bad... If You Are Not Using A Hpf On Your Amp It Will Sound A Bit Different But Subs Will Attempt To Emit High Tones It Put To Em But Its Is Harm Ful To The Spkr Too

I second the grounding issue. A bad ground, or bad RCA's can also cause a ground loop. I suggest moving the ground of the amp to a solid piece of frame metal, first sanding down the area for a good metal-to-metal contact. As for the bad RCA's maybe a screw got put through one of the RCA wires? I've seen that a few times working as an installer. Good luck finding and solving your problem!

mod god look at your post its same as mine... the forum automatically puts it in this format if you type all in caps lock which happens alot when im at work beaocuse the other program we use there requires full times caps so i usally forget to shut it off when im typing thus ls1 tech translates it into this format where every first letter is capitalised as far as my grammar ... well im at work so i dont have time to be checking my grammar

That's interesting - I've never seen that before. You would think that the software could be designed to capitalize only the first word of a sentence (following a period, question mark, etc.) or at the very least convert everything to lower case to make it easier to read. Perhaps it's a setting in the forum configuration that the administrators could change?
