Anyone gotten a letter from RSVP? It stands for Regional Smoking Vehicle Program.
I got a letter from them yesterday saying that a "concerned citizen" reported my car smoking on the 19th and tells me an intersection and time. I was worried at first thinking it came with a ticket or something. After reading the whole letter, it basically is nothing except the state offering to help me pay for "repairs" or give me money towards buying a new vehicle if I qualify financially. lol.
I don't know why someone reported me and according to this your vehicle has to emit smoke for more than 10 consecutive seconds. Mine only smokes at wide open throttle at over 6000 rpms cause I'm lacking various emission equipment.
It's kinda weird that someone actually wrote down my plates and called it in.
I was wondering if anyone else has ever gotten something in the mail.

I received a like letter 20-25 years ago from the state about an old pickup I was driving on the interstate in Bmt. Tx ,do not remenber just what it said, but about the same as OP'

Yeah I figure its either a hater or a hippie. I really don't believe that my car was smoking anyways. That's right beside where I work and in the mornings I never hot rod cause I'm half asleep.
I have had a few people tell me that my car smells really bad, but not in the past week or even month...
