This touches oil so i guess its internal even those its outside the engine <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

But here is what I did..

I just left the stock PCV valve in its place, ran a hose from that to a air compressor filter, then a hose from that filter to the intake manifold??

I've beem running that same set up for about a year now. I used the Campbell Hausfeld seperator. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

How well does that filter trap the oil/vapors/etc..

I'm currently running 2 breather valves, one on the passanger side valve cover and one on the drivers side towards the rear...All the crap that comes out of those drips onto the headers or drips onto the ground...

Bigbos: I just put this on a few minutes ago so I havent had a chance to see how much it catches. Its another blizzard setting in out here in Va and MD and I cant do any testing.

Mellow Yellow or some others with this setup should be able to help ya. I think Daily(from EFA) said his was already about full!

just as long as it catches some Ill be very happy.. In think total cost was like 30bucks but thats because the craftmen manual dump filter was 25. Walmart had almost the same one for like 10bucks, so this could be done for under 20 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I would say mine collects a bout a thimbol full every 4 to 6 weeks (guesstimate). It does work well and it looks 1000x better than anyother setup out there.

j/wdering but I see where some have the stock PCV valve after the catch can?? I have mine before and in the stock location. Some have it after and connecting to the manifold. Is there any major difference in the 2?

those that have it after the catch can said it catches more oil? Either way its still filtering some and all i would have to do it swap the PCV valve to after the filter <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

First I made one out of PVC pipe and the white pipe just looked kinda cheap, plus trying to thread the holes was a joke so around the fitting kept leaking. I Tried to paint it but the paint wouldn't hold. I didn't seal the caps in order to check it and/or pour the oil out when need be so the damn thing kept coming apart but when I first put it together the caps were hard as hell to get off... next i was gonna make one out of the paint can but the smallest can I could find was 1 qt and it was kinda too big. After seeing this post and checking out the Water seperator being used I went up to Walmart and got one for $12, it took me no more than 5 minutes to install (most of the time spent looking in the draw for the right size thread barbed fittings) and I should have done it this way in the first place.

FWIW, I tried several filter and catch can combos, but was still using oil. I finally said F it, and switched over to the LS6 PCV system. No more probs, and for about $50, I don't think you can beat it.

i just checked today and while the car was running i saw a little stream of oil running down the catch can inside so i know its catching some. I dont have big oil issues, but i know its using some now <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

I've been using the truck PCV valve, the one with the tiny orfice and no actual valve inside. I mounted it vertically, and that seems to work well for me.

I have been told by some very knowlegable sources that the superstrokers are known for sucking a ton of oil thru the pcv system and was recommened that install a large billet catch can made by Greddy which my mechanic just installed last weekend and i hope it proves worth while. Here is a link regarding the Greddy catch can i went with and how it was hooked up on my C5.

I copies Mobe's setup on mine about a month ago, and I've already caught at least a thimble-full. All on semi-aggresive street driving, not track time. I also used the truck PCV & flipped it vertical at the same time, and my collector is after the valve.
