Default FTRA SSRA? Worth it?

I am looking to get a lid soon, and I was wondering if I should get the FTRA or SSRA? What exactly is the FTRA? I know its the fast toys ram air, but is it the same as the SSRA? I can't imagine how that little tiny slit can provide enough air for the LS1? I am a newbie though, so pelase correct me and lead me in the right direction. I don't want to make any newbie mistakes and want the car clean looking and don't want to cut anything if possible in case I need to return it to stock. Also, which is one of the best lids out there, mainly I guess the biggest issue is fitment? I heard the TSP lid is the best? Thanks.

Nope, my dad does not know, I don't think he will! He might find out about the SLP loudmouth though! Maybe..... LOL! I am a little confused here, what is the best setup to get, a lid and FTRA or SSRA? What is the difference? I am deffinitely getting a lid, but I don't want to stop there.

SSRA is the metal one right? I will most likely go with the FTRA then, wonder if there is any difference in prices. Also, what about sucking up any water? This is my daily driver, has anyone had a problem with that? Thanks. BTW jaberwaki I love that car! That is the car I wanted, but can't find anywhere, I love the SOM WS6!!!!!

SSRA is the plastic one, FTRA is metal. i dont think anyone has had a problem with sucking up water with either system, just as long as you remember you cant just drive thru big puddles and such.

Hey, another Delaware person! I'm getting the FTRA. It looks the most durable to me. As far as lids go, I like my Direct-flo. It fits good and the price can't be beat. I've heard good things about the TSP lid too.

Where in DE are you from? I was leaning towards the plastic one, I don't know but metal just doesn't seem right to me, especially with heat and all.

I'm in Middletown. Where are you at? I really don't think you can go wrong with either one. I think the FTRA is cheaper $ though. If you are interested, we are putting together a Dyno Day for March 13. PM me if you want details.

is it true that the SSRA is much easier to install than the FTRA? read a few stories about difficulties of getting the FTRA's bolt holes to line up. true?

No drilling required with the SSRA. Takes about 15 minutes if you've already done the FRA mod.

When I did research awhile back every one said ssra...There were people who had real track gains from it!!! Best bang for the buck.
