Default Red FRC's on LS2

Well after seeing so many V's running Corvette FRC's, I decided to take the plunge myself. Got my set off of Craigslist for 50

Cool, I wondered how the edges would fare on a painted one, if it would chip or something. But it looks like it trimmed up nicely. They are usually color-matched to the car, but red looks good on black. I bet a silver set would look good too.

Yea I looked around for a non-black set, but couldnt pass the deal up that I got on these. The edges didnt turn out too bad, I contemplated getting some red touch up paint, but cant be bothered. Where in VA are you located?

Oh wow, I missed the "50" part, that is a screaming deal. That's a good deal on the regular ones, but the painted ones are like twice as expensive from GM.

Unlike the LS6 cars, you could have done it with the STB still in place.

I'm in Leesburg.

The write up you did was quite helpful about where to trim, much thanks! I was planning on doing it with the STB in place, but took it off and did some engine bay detailing while I was at it.

I am in Manassas, we should meet up sometime, need someone to talk V's with, the wife's car knowledge only goes so far

You will find out when you try to put them on. Its very obvious where they need to be trimmed.

Honestly, I cut mine with a sharp knife and finished the edges off with a dremel

It's pretty straight forward, you'll get it done in no time.

Hardest part is removing the strut bar.

On a (few) side notes:
1). You check out my thread about Cars and Coffee tomorrow?
2). You know a guy named Bobby H. in the Subi world? I was hanging out with him last night and he said he knew you....small world

Us LS2 guys do not need to remove the strut bar.

And yes, use a dremel. It made the job very easy.

Yea man dremel works through the FRCs quite nicely. Just test fit and trim till they snap onto the fuel rails. I had to retirm mine when I put the K&N CAI on because the tube that connect to the intake tube was larger than the stock one.
