Default HELP! ideas to reach rwhp goal

i have a 2000 trans am and im trying to reach 600rwhp in which i will be boosting. im not wanting to build another block im wanting to use my ls1 in the car.

450 to 500 is about max your going to get using stock LS1

^i would have to agree, you could maybe put a BIG shot to 600 but it isnt going to last long. if you want a reliable(sp?) 600 hp i would do forged pistons and crank, if you want to stay ls1, would probably be a bit easier on a ls2 block, correct me if im wrong but that is my .02

yea i already am preparing to put forged pistons and rods. but im trying to figure out what size heads?cam?intake manifold? and im possibly going to be boosting it. dnt want to spray it.

ive been told that an ls1 block can hold atleast mid 600hp. as long as u put stronger internals. and im new to ls1tech so i really dnt kn where to look for information.

The first link is a Sticky in the Forced Induction forum. The 2nd link is to the LS1/6 Internal Engine forum. Since 600 RWHP with a N/A 346 will be damn near impossible, I'd start looking through all the stickies and searching the Forced Induction forum only for what internals to use and even what form of FI you plan on using.

Why 600 RWHP? Just wondering what the signifiance of that number is. Good luck.

it was just a good hp goal for what i want to do with it. idk i would probably be happy with with mid 500 or alil less. and i was planning on boosting it. thanks for the input. ill take all suggestions!

at 8# with my rear mount turbo, im at 480 rwhp and 520 rwtq on stock (for now) internals LS1...
