Default Stuck Between 17-18 Staggerd Combo

Looking to get rims for my SS real soon, and im running a 275/40/17 all the way around the car rite now, with a mickey thompson radial in the back and she hooks pretty damn good, was thinking when i get new rims should i do the 17s in the front and 18s in the rear? can u hook up just as good wit a mickey thomposon 18 tire as a 17 in the rear? not sure wut options i have on size, or would u reccomend staying wit all 17s ?

I would just stick to 17's all around. I dont know if M/T has any tires that will fit an 18" rim. Just go with some TT2.. Those would look clean on your car.

Hi,
i'm running 17/18 zo6 wheels on my 98 formula. 275/40/17 front and 295/35/18 rear. Michelin pilots all four corners. Check my photos for the look on the vehicle. I know you will make the right choice.wishing you and your family a blessed week. Captain jim

Depends on the wheels you want. I personally don't like staggered wheels.

i love the staggered look and the rake. 17 and 18's. thinking about 18/19's or even 18/20's, but those tire costs... eek

I'd imagine you'll hook up better with 17s since there is more sidewall, but honestly, I doubt it will matter with just bolt-ons. May want to meet half way in the middle. I have a set of Toyo R888s waiting to be mounted.

Here is my 17/18 setup:

I'm running 295/35/18 on the back (18x10.5). That's stock Z06 size tires.

I have a set of 315/30/18 waiting to go on though.
