Default new wheels need suggestions for tires

I just ordered a set of c5 dd 17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rears and was looking for some reasonably priced tires for the street. I don't think i'll be able to take it to the track this year so I need some good street tires that wont break my bank account. Any insight would be appreciated. if its your weekend car i would recommend Mickey Thompson's relatively cheap and provide good grip

275-40-17 sumitomos for the front....about 100 a piece from tirerack.com.....rears pick your poison 295-35-18. sumitomo makes a 275-35-18 i think its reasonable but check ebay for the 295s used its the cheapest you willl find.

weekend warrior, dont want to break the bank.

So are you looking for just a drive around tire, or a cornering tire, or a launching tire? How long would you want the tires to last?

I think one of the cheaper tires that seemed to have good reviews are the riken raptors. I have nexxen n3000 on my car.

I run Sumis on my stock wheels and ET streets on my track wheels. No complaints with either.

It's a weekend driver. I just built a 427lsx motor for it and supporting trans. but have to wait to put a rearend in it so I really don't want to make it launch hard. Just something that wears decent without a lot of road noise. I can't stand it when a car goes by and the first thing you hear are the tires roaring.lol I just need something cheap to get me by till next summer, no hard cornering or anything just some burnouts and such once in awhile. I wont take it to the track till I can afford to put a rear in it. Thanks for the replies so far.

your going to want 275/40 up front and 295/35 in the back. anything smaller in the back and you will be stretching the tire.

Not sure what cheap is to you, but I love my Nitto Invo's in 275/35/18 and 295/35/18

Well I found an awesome deal on some 315 hoosier drag radials so I bought those for the rear and just bought some cheap kuhmo tires for the front. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
