Default Ls1 6.0L test results XR281HR

Her is the test results from a 99 Ls1 that is bored to 6.0L with Ls2 pistons and rods. Ls1 crank, Ls6 intake, stock Ls1 injectors, 85mm Prof Produ TB
Stock 241 heads with Ls6 springs, compcam XR281HR camshaft, dual timing gear. H3 oil pan, F body front drive accessories. Engine is dyno'd with, water pump, alternator and power steering. Camshaft is NOT degreed and spark curve is stock from Ls6. We didn't want to push it harder, it's not balanced.
We know that we could push out 20-40hp more with degree the cam and a tougher spark curve.
Tuned with Efi-Live and Dyno-Max 2010.

SWEET! Nice numbers man, I have a 6.0 LQ4 that is getting shaved heads/ported heads with manley springs. Already have the XER281HR LS6 intake, 42lb injectors, and full exhaust, I wonder if I could Crack 500 with some good tuning. Definitely looks like you could use larger injectors at this point!

Yes stock injectors 28Lb @ 60PSI 3psi over stock and 10mm fuel hoses.
Started out with Lukas 42lbs, but we needed to fuel them down. So why use something we don't need. Stock has a cycle duty @ 95%.
The deal with the hole engine was to check how much hp we could reach with a tight setup and tune to the lowest prize.

The coolest thing with the hole test was: Everyone says you can't bor the 5,7 Ls1 block to 6.0L. Yes you can, this engine has 14 hours in the Dyno just to check that it will work.

Second is the 241 heads. They are cheap heads, but will work out for the most of us. They are not so bad at all that many people claim that they are.

That is a strange looking dyno graph. Normally after 5250rpm where the torque line and the horsepower line cross the torque becomes lower. But in this case it continues to climb. Maybe a chasis dyno and a high stall torque converter was used?

I'm not sure what you mean. You bor it like you do on all other engines.
This is the 2 Ls1 I have done this with and i know one other on the forum is doing it right now.

Well sir you are the first person I have heard of that would bore out an LS1 to 4.00 bore.I don't think 462bhp would add the wow factor in my book since my stock bottom end LS1 is putting out over 100 more horsepower than that to the flywheel.

also 462 at the crank is around 400rwhp so the 4" bore did almost nothing in the power department. as predator said your either very lucky or confused. either way i'd start saving for a new short block because i don't see any longevity coming from this setup. just my .02

I bet he had it bored "10 over" and thinks that means .1 over not .01. I have never heard of anyone going to a 4" bore on an LS1 either.

He said that he used LS2 pistons. And that just didn't happen, especially not twice.

Does anyone actually know how thick the liners are? .100 sounds like a lot but when you get right down to it you are working with a uniform cylinder liner and only taking .050 off the thickness of the liner. Half on one side and the other half on the other. So if the liner is .160 thick you still have .110 of thickness left.

I gurantee your not making 100 more hp with stock 241 heads... 462bhp is pretty respectable being that the heads are bone stock and its running a ls6 tune. a 6.0 wont make any more peak power than a 5.7 with the exact same heads/cam... more cubes needs more head lol
