When I first started building my TA I got some dart pro heads and a mild comp cam and with a tune mine ran really good and thats a cheaper route than a trickflow or afr package. but thats my opinion. Really it matters what you ultimately want to do with your car. You dont want to do things twice and waste money either.

Thanks, im not looking to race my car and I only have 6 months left on my active duty contract in the marines so my steady paycheck will be coming to a skreetching halt. The car is all paid off but im still not trying to dump all of my savings just yet. I just want a little more power with an angry sound for now with the ss. I appreciate the help.

There are cheaper heads but IMO I would get a set of 243/799's ported by AI or TEA if you wanna go OEM casting. DJ Fury on here makes around 470 on AI 243 heads (stock flycut bottom end) and I have seen that car MPH 124 in the 1/4

Aftermarket TFS, and AFR I have seen kick butt. The Mast ($$$) and PRC proprietary are also supposed to be really nice..

You said all you have is exhaust. Is this just a cat-back?

I would say if you are trying to be semi-budget oriented and are only looking for a little bit more power to try the remaining bolt-ons first.

Intake Manifold/Throttle Body
Long tube headers & ORY

i mean, you get an ls6 H/C setup and make descent power.

maybe its not the cheapest now that i think about it.

I have a set of Texas speed ported ls6 heads and a decent size cam. A little lower on the duration would net you some impressive torque. Texas speed makes a great set and I bought their Torquer V2 cam. Makes a ton of power. Awsome mid range and top end. But you after torque I would look into the stage one ls6 heads or the worked 5.3 head with a 222 to 224 cam. That would be a fun set up for a daily driver. I recently installed a 228/228 and 581/581 in my buddies car. It has good low end torque with stock exhaust manifolds. My cam is 232/234 dur. and 594/598 on a 112 LSA. I feel like it doesn't have enough low end torque for me but it's a banshee mid range all the way up to 6700 RPMs. So my recomendation is a low to mid 220's duration and what ever lift. Heads well I have no complaints with these Texas speed pieces and the price is right.
