Probably less than 5K on them, with cool sox and wrapped headers. The silicone insulator turned brown and brittle, they pulled apart easy, even one of the boots split in half removing them. A couple left the connector on the spark plug, was wondering why I was idling rough. Only 2 wires made it after removing them.
The last two still ohm tested under 40 ohms resistance, but I went back to my old stockers, good thing I never threw them out.

hard to beat stock wires. I just ordered MSDs for my ls1 mustang because they were a package deal with plugs.

I don't think I'll ever change my plugs w/o the wires on the V. It happened to me before with Taylor Thundervolt 50s, 2 out of 8 didn't make it. I never thought I would see that from those wires but it happened.

The funny thing is I now have the same Moroso Ultra 40s pictured by the OP as my replacements since they were in stock and I needed the car running quick at that time. We'll see how many survive the next time around.

Ive been through 4 plug changes in the V over the past year or so and have never had a problem with the stock wires. Nitrous causes me to change them much more often but knock on wood they are all still in one piece.

I have MSD wires on my car and have had them on and multiple times with no issues. Only bought those cause my stockers came apart when removing them lol I should also mention the MSD wires are also positionable. You can put them on and bend it away from the header tube. I don't run the soxs but my headers are wrapped and have had zero problems with heat affecting the wires. Even with the maggie pushing 10lbs.

I was just getting ready to purchase those Taylor wires, damnit. Is anyone having problems using the Firecore50 that Gforce is/was selling?? Looks like it will be factory or Magnecor now.

I just installed the Firecore50s from Gforce and no issues at all. They seem like a quality product.

Had same experience with borg warner wires. I just use MSD or stock.

I stick with stock or MSD on all my vehicles. I have never had an MSD wire go brittle or break on me.

Its not that the Taylor wires are that bad, I've had success with them in my race 1G DSM however with as much heat soak as these cars produce, I guess its expected even with a thick boot.

I had those Thundervolt 50s on for almost 2 years before I had to change them out. My stockers also came apart too, think it was 3 out of 8 that time.

ouch..... I have to say, depending on the car...... broken wires are the worse to get off your plugs. Pain in the ***

Plenty of 9 and 10 second cars running stock wires. No need for aftermarket on street cars.

One of my stock wires was failing. I was going to order stock plugs but figured, why not try the FireCores.

I only changed mine because I was changing sparkplugs last summer, now with the blower going on I'll be changing plugs again, probably will buy stock wires. Mind you the Moroso's did check out at under 40ohms when new, the stockers are around 750 ish I believe, not that it is bad or anything.
Anybody want to buy some slightly used NGK Iridiums? LOL.
Was thinking about stuffing the Ultra 40's in a box and mailing them to Moroso.
