Who Wants to See my new Bling Setup?? Engine and Paint..
Here are some pics of my new LsX Intake..which I port matched to my TEA heads and blended the runners to the ports using professional tools( have done several intakes now)..I did the intake in a dark metallic red to match the House of Kolor Candy Apple Red that my new hand laid flames starts with..I also did the FAST and Wilson logos on te intake in GM metallic silver and the clearcoated everything.
I did the polished parts myself using a 7 step method that comes out killer..you won't find a scratch or mark anywhere in my stuff, looks like chrome.
In this pic is polished Fuel Rails, Throttle Body, MAF sensor, and one valve cover. I will also be doing the coil packs to match the intake and the coil pack brackets either polished or in metallic silver..I am also half way done polishing my BMR strut tower brace and would do my calipers but my Prostars hide them so its kinda pointless..
The pics blow cuz I couldnt' get any light but you get the idea..
Let me know what you think, I'm thinking about getting into this stuff, I have one person with a corvette that I'm going to be doing similar work for(porting, painting, polishing) that should come out nice..
here's the pics

Here are some really crappy pics of my new paint..you can't see anything really but the layout of the flames, you should see this car when it is in sunlight..5 different candy colors blended in the flames alone..its pretty wild..alot was done(filled in front grill holes, SS spoiler, no molding, polished door locks, matched roof and mirrors, all new Silver paint, etc), I will get better pics when the car is out again properly clean with the normal rims and all that in the sunlight..

Yeah blackouts are one of those you love em or hate things. I've always had a thing for em, no idea why
I did have them off when I got it back from the body shop and the car looks way better in the front with the flames with them on, no comparison IMO. The headlights just "broke up" the flames too much, the blackouts make em blend in..I was going to have the extra set I have done in candy to really hide the lights for shows but Joe said they wouldn't paint well or something ,i can't remember

Looks nice!
Just a quick question, after you polished the fuel rails, did you clear coat them to prevent rust?
Hey just a suggestion, spend the extra dollar for stainless bolts for the TB and polish them, just a little detail.
Looks good.

Yeah, been a heat wave of 40 degrees around here the last few days, LOL
Todd--I am clearcoating the rails tonite, I had to jet for a rehearsal with my band and just wanted to snap some quick pics..The bolts are also not staying, the TB is just stock on there loose for the pics..those factory bolts won't even work at all with this intake it would appear, I plan on polished ones for the final result..I will be using a custom 78mm TB anyway at this point, so I'll have to polish the damn thing again.
thanks for the kind words everyone..

it'll be good to get pics in sunlight, then you can actually see the colors i chose..it goes candy apple red to candy violet to candy purple to candy cobalt blue and ends in candy oriental blue. all the fades and blends are awesome, can't tell where one ends and another starts..

I like the intake and polishing. Very Post up pics when you get it all installed.
On the intake, if you had wanted to could you have sanded down the 'FAST' portion of it if you had wanted to? Just wonder if it's raised lettering or not.
