Arrow ** Bsaint - Estoril M3 LS1 Car Build (Start to Finish) **

Ok so well I'm not "New" here, but I don't post much, I figured it be as good as time as any to post up the Start of my LS1 swap into my M3.

Winter comes so I don't really drive it much.

How it sits for most of the winter.

And it begins

Some useless weight

Plans for these later

other toys

Delievery!!

Over night parts from..... Japan

For us large gentlemen

Front bumper, hood, nose panel all going out for paint.

And this is where I'll leave it for now.

Sold my motor and now Sourcing out my LS1 & T56 trans thanks to the parts classified section, Still searching for the perfect price and set up. The engine mounts, and other parts should be at my door soon though.

Thanks guys!!

yeah E36 is a great chassis and handles great, but like any good car weight is a killer. Right now we estimated after seats, engine trans, etc should be about 2,800lbs wet. The original I6 S52 BMW engine is an Iron block so even though I'm going to a 5.7 v8 it weighs about the same if not a little less. Not to mention some great power I've always loved LSX engines, my plans are prob mild cam, ls6 intake and decent exhuast/intake setup as far as power.

awesome. What mount kit did you go with?
I have been enjoying my E39 LS1 for almost a year now. You will absolutely love it when done.

Had to, sold it that same day $2,500. Need $$ for parts, no turning back. It pushes me to finish it faster I have about 10 leads on engines and trans seems like everyone wants big money for their combo's but I can buy an LS1 for $2k and source a trans for $1,000-$1,500... doesn't make sense.

PS I've followed your thread on bimmerforums, a lot of good info hopefully should help me, I'll pick your brain as it goes on.

buy as complete of a drivetrain as you can and make sure it has warranty. Buying separate can nickle and dime you to death
