Default New exhaust after Heads and cam install

so i just did my heads and cam install (see my build thread) and the dynomax bullet is still way to loud, it is starting to **** off my neighbors, and my wife. so i am in need of a good exhaust that sounds good with a cammed car and longtubes with ORY, that i can start at 5 in the morning and not be heard by the whole block!

here is what my exhaust sounds like now, and the drone at any rpm above 1500 is ridiculous!

Best option is a Magnaflow with E-Cut outs! You will sound quiet at start up and cruse and great at WOT. Then open your cut outs to the loudness you want. Amazing sound with a cam'ed and headed car.

I was thinking the same thing, with the Magnaflow and the cutout. now which magnaflow system should i get, some of them are kind of ridiculous, which is why i got the SLP in the first place.

thats what i thought, it is just the pipes and the tips after the muffler you are paying for, i have the SLP 3.5" slash tips right now anyway, so they will pretty much be the same thing. no biggie

The tips themselves may make the car sound a little different but as far as the muffler, no. They are the same muffler. The quad tips may make it sound a little quieter than it is already going to be. The cannon tips will some what echo whats coming out of the muffler because they are fairly long and thin metal.

Jeez.... Gimme some warning... Didn't know my volume was jacked up on the computer... Gave me a good jump.. Sounds like mine though, but your muffler is about 6" shorter than mine.

But I've seen a Magnaflow system on a TA before and those 4" tips looked AMAZING thu that CETA! LOVED it but I'e also heard it gets a bit loud and raspy with ORY. I can only imagine h/c. Maybe look into a Mufflex/Spintech system. To hell with the flow if you want it quiet, that's what a cutout is for.

get a magnaflow and keep the bullet in the i-pipe, and have a cutout. That is the exact setup i have, the bullet took away all the rasp and it is nice and quiet also as long as the cutout is not open. Or the hooker sounds nice also and is pretty tame.

well the whole fun part is looking at the build thread, but the cam is a LSR cam speced to 227/235 and PRC 5.3 heads, running a total of just under 11.2:1 compression

If you really want the best of both worlds, go back to a stock catback. But make, or have made, a custom y pipe with an electric cutout. Quiet as can be for 5am starts, but just as loud as you have now whenever you want.
