Default Installed and rancustom Comp Cams stuff from CMotorsports...gained .8 and 12mph!

Alright, so I've had a TR224 in the car for a while, and it was time for something bigger....a lot bigger. I had a huge solid roller in my LT1 so I know how big cams are. I called up combination motorsports about 2 months ago when they ran a cam special. I was all ready to go solid roller again, big cam, nasty idle, no vacuum...blah blah. They actually talked me OUT of spending the money on the solid roller!! So, Combination 1, me 0.\

Took the car out tonight using the GTech Pro (which I use all the time, so it's not like it's the first time) on ET Streets and a 150 shot. Holy ****. I knew the car was fast, but not this fast. The GTech measures trap speed different from the track, but still...from the TR224 to the custom grind I gained 12MPH...THAT'S FREAKING AMAZING.

Just thought I'd share, I'm so excited right now, the car is in the garage, idling with the bottle warmer on. Bottle pressure on that last run was only at 930psi, going up to 1110 this time out. WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as your comparing both (your 224 cam to the new) on the same GTech Pro, should be reliable gains, to the extent possible from such a measuring device. Good job, but what specs for the new bumpstick?

I'd have to say that maybe your new cam is more nitrous oriented than the old 224. I'm also wondering since the g-tech is so far off on mph over the track, if it only gets worse the faster you go? Something to think about.

The 12 MPH difference was from G-Tech to G-Tech, not track to G-Tech. It's always been very consitant for me

You should have done a track to track test. You could have had the G-Tech in a different position and showed a big gain with out changing a thing. I seriously doubt you would have saw that big of a gain at the track. You need to gain 80+ hp to be able to drop .8 in the 1/4.

That rocks. On a side note, what was your NA LT1 setup (cubes, heads, cam, etc..)?

Thanks, Jason

I know they were G-tech to G-tech times. i was saying that since the g-tech is off on mph so much from the get go, I wonder if it gets further off the faster you go. Say if a car runs 110 stock and the g-tech says 115, would a car that runs 120 run 125 or would it be further off, say 128-130.
