Decided to keep it and make it my own . . . starting with the grill
Hey all,
I've decided to keep my CTS-V and make it the car I want it to be. I've enjoyed the car for the 9 months I've owned it, but always felt like it was the previous owners car, not mine. I was keeping it stock in case I decided to sell.
I think, over time, I can build this car to suite my desires. As much as I want another really fast car, I love the surprise that a quick, mean-sounding growl that this 4-door can muster. I love the looks of confusion as people hear what should be a Corvette or F-body, and around the corner turns what people may have traditionally viewed as grandpa's car. And I love that I can have more than 1 other person in there when need be. My GF who HATES road trips was completely content reclined in the passenger seat with the seat heater on and a blanket, as she watched a movie on my NAV screen on the way up to Seattle.
So that said, I have begun what will probably be the slow process of transformation. Both the looks and performance of this car will eventually be touched
I appreciate the input from everyone in regards to getting a C5, and look forward to your input about modifying my CTS-V.
For now, I have blacked out the grill. I kept the chrome trim up top, as I like having a bit of shine. I'm not going for a completely black-out look, but rather, want something that looks smooth, but has a little bit of a dark side.
Let me know what you think .

The grille looks great man, really shows off the Caddy emblem. I've just been browsing over here on the Caddy side since I'm thinking of getting a V and I've got so say yours is VERY clean! Is that a whole new grill or the stock one painted black?

It looks nice. I'm always on the fence about the grill, as the bold chrome grill is fairly distinctive and looks good. But it looks good blacked out like that too.
And I share the original sentiment. I'm hesitant to mod my car, because I keep thinking about maybe selling and getting a V2. But I really enjoy the hell out of the car, quirks aside. The ride they settled on is great, definitely firm and sporty, but not rough.
Axles would probably be my first purchase, I just am hesitant to spend that first amount. I guess I haven't decided 100% yet.
