Default Would You Buy This?

i have a chance at getting a 6.0 from a wrecked 2002 trans am. all i know is the body had 137k miles, unknown on the engine itself. it is a complete engine but they said that it does not sound stock (probably a cam). they said it had aluminum heads (maybe 243's) and it comes with the harness. they want about 1500 for it and they it will have a 3 month warranty on it. would you buy it? thats about all i know about it. the junkyard said that it ran good and its a well respected yard

they only way i would buy it is to see if the cam and heads are aftermarket and to see what specs they are but i doubt the junkyard would let u tear the thing down to see but heads wouldnt be too bad to check. cuz if it does have big cam and nice 243's i would be intereted in it

if it has a big cam in it i wouldnt want it just because it was most likely abused. if it was a small cam i would be fine. my guess is it is an lq4 that only has a cam in it useing the heads that were on there (i believe 243's came stock)

i would just make sure i installed it pretty quick, so if it is fu**ed, you can return it. I did this with a jeep motor, but didnt install it untill 6 months later and found out it had two dead cylinders. so i was just stuck with it. the k&n oil filter could be a good sign that it was took care of though.

I would pass on it if I couldn't hear it running. I would much rather build up my 5.7 motor then have an unknown 6.0. But if you do buy it I would install it RIGHT AWAY so if there are any issues they will take care of it.

One more thing that would steer me away is when they say things like "sounds like it has a cam" To me, I would be more willing to buy if the place selling the engine can tell me what exactly I am buying.
